The role

We are currently looking for an Assistant to support an Executive in the Television Business Affairs Department. This position provides an opportunity to learn about business affairs, work with industry executives and attorneys, as well as learn about entertainment law. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with a desire to learn about the business and legal aspects of the entertainment industry (this role is not for candidates looking for an agent career path).

Responsibilities
• Support the efficiency of the executive responsible for negotiating writing, directing, acting and producing deals for clients on scripted and unscripted television programmes.
• General clerical and administrative duties including drafting letters, filing, handling telephones, managing calendars, scheduling, expenses, and office administration.
• Editing, proofreading, summarizing and redrafting agreements and correspondence under the supervision of the executive authority.
• Depending on skill, educational level and motivation to learn, the assistant will gain experience in drafting and commenting on agreements.
• Maintain awareness of executive branch obligations in order to proactively assist and/or anticipate needs.
• Serves as the first point of contact with customers, agents and executives.
• Track current and potential customers.
• Assist with special projects, research, and information compilation as needed.

Qualifications
• 1+ years of experience as an administrative assistant in an agency, studio, and/or talent management setting preferred. Interest in pursuing a career in entertainment law is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work well under pressure. Meeting tight deadlines; Managing multiple projects and expectations; And maintain sharp focus while managing competing priorities.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with an understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels.
• Adept at quickly learning new processes and technology and able to assimilate and become familiar with existing systems.
• Strong leadership of Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with film, television or other entertainment contracts is preferred, but not required.

compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is between $20.00 and $22.00. This position is also eligible for discretionary benefits and bonuses. Ultimately, wages may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, time on the job, business sector, geographic location, among other criteria.
