Lecturer in pharmacy
About the role
We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated and collegial University Lecturer in Pharmaceutics to assist in the delivery of undergraduate Pharmacy, Pharmacy and Bioscience courses. Our department and university have achieved an excellent reputation for teaching, and we are looking for a high-quality candidate to enhance the academic and employability skills of our students.
This role will involve teaching in small groups, lecturing, delivering practical classes and supporting students on undergraduate/postgraduate courses as well as administrative duties, assessment and examinations as required. This post will support learning and teaching in pharmacy.
The Department of Life Sciences at the University of Bath has over 90 academic members in a wide range of disciplines including biochemistry, cell and developmental biology, evolution, genetics, immunomicrobiology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology and structural biology. The vast majority of papers within the combined departments were rated 4* or 3* in the last assessment (REF2021).
Functional purpose:
- To plan and deliver educational teaching programs and support student learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (as appropriate). This will include preparing teaching materials, lectures, tutorials, evaluating laboratory classes, and grading coursework.
- Playing a role in developing the teaching culture and student experience at the university.
- Providing administrative and administrative duties related to teaching.
While teaching is expected to be based on research/professional experience, there is no research element to this role.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract until the end of January 2027 to cover parental leave.
