Senior Director of Research Compliance at the London School of Economics and Political Science

Salary from £53,949 to £62,160 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £69,073 per annum including London Allowance

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the world’s leading social sciences universities. LSE is a vibrant and cosmopolitan community in the heart of London, with a diverse staff and student body.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Compliance Manager to join our Research Awards team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our research activities comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines. In addition, you will have direct administrative responsibilities, supervising two Research Awards Administrative Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • – Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure research compliance in all departments.
  • Monitor and audit research activities to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and external regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Lead and manage a team of administrative assistants for research awards, including performance evaluations and professional development.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry standards related to research compliance.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree or equivalent with a relevant professional qualification in management, law, finance or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in identifying opportunities to improve internal systems and procedures and then developing and implementing the process to achieve change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to explain complex regulatory and compliance concepts to non-specialists.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and managing projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to identify compliance issues and implement solutions.
