Partnership and Delivery Officer – South Gloucestershire Council

How will you make a difference?

As a Partnership and Delivery Officer, you will make a difference in the delivery of a wide range of community, landscape and environmental projects relating to public open space management and the effective and sustainable management of open space.

By enabling community groups to provide support and technical expertise to implement landscape and environmental improvement projects, you will encourage contributions to enhancing, maintaining and improving open space land assets. It will also inspect lands scheduled to become public open space through the development process, assess appropriate horticultural standards and liaise with legal services in accordance with the relevant 106 agreements.

What will you do?

  • It will be your responsibility to provide advice, guidance and support to community groups, partners and clients to support objectives and identify areas within local communities to engage people in the provision and delivery of s106 funded off-site public open landscape improvements.
  • It will facilitate the inspection of lands scheduled to become public open space through the development process, including site inspections to assess horticultural standards and any necessary connectivity.
  • It will be essential for you to plan and deliver events including consultations, conducting presentations and briefings and providing formal and informal training to colleagues, partners and the community in a variety of settings.
  • By monitoring allocated budgets, you will ensure activities are achieved within allocated resources, timelines and budget and that financial information is accurate and accessible.
  • By helping to build local community networks, you will help build capacity to make an effective contribution to a wide range of community initiatives and work closely with partner organizations to secure their engagement in achieving community goals.

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a horticultural, landscape or environmental management discipline, or significant experience managing public open space improvements, landscape, environmental and community engagement projects.
  • We require that you be able to demonstrate experience in managing and implementing multiple and complex horticultural, landscape and environmental schemes.
  • You will have knowledge of practical horticultural methods, techniques and standards applicable to the service area, specifically landscape inspection and public open space schemes, which are examined by the Council as part of the development process.
  • It is essential that you have demonstrable experience working with community groups and volunteers to promote and manage open spaces and implement landscape and environmental projects.
  • You must be able to effectively engage with colleagues and external partners and influence others based on your technical knowledge of the area.

What you need to know

  • This is a limited term contract until April 22, 2027
  • Full time, 37 hours per week
  • This is also suitable as an internal loan opportunity.

Interviews will be conducted on October 27, 2025.
