CPL has entered into a partnership with the civil service in NISS to set Currator E (So Grade) to join their team with a temporary contract, with the possibility of extension.

· Payment rate – 19.59 pounds per hour

· location – Daera, data, marine evidence and fisheries

· Advantages – 37 days on vacation annually

· Hours – 37 hours a week

Main responsibilities:

One function for the archaeologist in the Department of Marine Antiquities and Fisheries in Daera. The job will be allocated to work on a specialized project on shipwrecks that are likely to be polluted (PPWS). This position will provide support to a senior marine archaeologist.

Responsibilities will include:

Determine the wreckage of ships that may contain materials that are likely to be polluted by the environment using office toolsOn sources.

Initial identification of the risk of desktop debris.

One case study to evaluate debris.

Recommendations regarding future debris management and intervention in NI water from the perspective of cultural heritage.

Ensure that the tasks are completed within the deadline and the budget.

Contact with relevant professional colleagues and attend meetings. and

Publishing the results of the project and writing the reports.

Experience / basic qualifications

The degree of honor in archeology, or in a related topic such as geography, environmental or marine sciences.

Experience in geographical information systems.

A complete valid driver’s license enables the license to drive vehicles in Northern Ireland.

Experience / required qualifications

It will be useful for candidates to prove two years of experience after graduating with historical sources and geographical information systems. This includes, to name a few:

Experience in the use of the historical environment record of Northern Ireland (Heroni) for research and work purposes with relevant indexes and databases, and/or experience in indexing and archiving.

Experience database and geographical information systems. The ability to digitize geographic information systems.

Try and interpret topography processing. Previous experience in using multi -packet data is useful.

Knowing the features of the marine and coastal heritage.

Related or equivalent qualifications
