Salary: £40 – £45 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)

Purpose of the role

As a member of the academic team, you will teach, assess and manage classes linked to the associated modules in Business Management at Bath Spa U Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing high quality teaching and learning across a range of programs within the higher education setting,
• Student teachers, including final year supervision, provide appropriate support to enable students to achieve their goals and progress in positive directions.
• Contribute to course development and continuous improvement, and coordinate effectively with both staff and students.
• Deliver ad hoc sessions in line with learning outcomes and unit syllabi.
• Develop measures to understand the learning needs of students on their units.
• Support students with timely formative feedback to the extent specified by each program specification.
• Mark and provide concise feedback within the specified deadline
• Produce appropriate unit/unit reports.
• To take responsibility for additional academic responsibilities, such as unit leadership, etc.

Personal specifications

necessary:

• A good first class degree in the relevant discipline
• Experience working in Virtual Learning Environments (VLES) to support learners.

desirable:

• Already hold or obtain a higher degree in a relevant area.
• Previous experience in different teaching methods and/or teaching experience at the university level.
• The Certificate of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education is accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA.

• Excellent communication skills suitable for teaching undergraduate students with a wide range of backgrounds
