Job Summary:

BB&N is looking for a head track and field coach for the boys team. This is a part-time position and is not eligible for employee benefits during the spring season. This position may also be paired with the head coach of the middle school track and field program. Responsibilities include all aspects of team organization, including practice planning and administrative tasks. The coach will provide examples of fair play, team building, character building and respect for players. The BB&N Athletic Department expects its coaches to operate within the BB&N Athletic Philosophy and adhere to the BB&N Coaches Handbook as well as the rules and guidelines of the Independent School League (ISL) and the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).

*On occasion, student-athletes may qualify for national level competitions. The head coach is expected to support and/or accompany athletes at these events, as has happened historically.

**There will be local training during the second week of March vacation.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Key functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan practices. Supervising track meetings.

  • Guiding and mentoring athletes in skill development, personality development, and teamwork.

  • Communicate relevant information regarding meetings, practices, and other team obligations with parents/guardians.

  • Support and enhance the development of students with the ability and/or ambition to compete at the collegiate level, and provide guidance and resources to help them succeed.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
