Position summary

A research scientist position is available in Dr. Jennifer Surtees’ laboratory to study pathways DNA Metabolism-mediated mismatch repair (MMR) MSH2-MSH3 complex. These include post-iterative pathways MMR,double strand DNA break repair (DSBR) and triple repetition (tnr) Dynamics using a model system Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The project involves the development of cutting-edge methods, with a combination of In the laboratory Protein biochemistry and In vivo Genetic analysis. the Surtees Laboratory It provides a team environment and trains a diverse group of people over the years. We welcome scholars from all backgrounds and mentor trainees at all levels.

Specific job responsibilities include:

    • Protein purification
    • Protein cross-linking mass spectrometry
    • Test the functional impact of mutations on MMR,3 NHTR and tnr Paths In vivo
    • Laboratory maintenance activities, including ordering, meeting and maintaining the organization’s database

Minimum qualifications

  • PhD or MD with background in molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with mass spectrometry and protein purification

Physical demands

  • Normal working expectations for laboratory and package unpacking

Salary range
$60,000 – $80,000
