Opportunity
This is a pivotal moment to join the KWANTLEN Polytechnic Executive Team. We are looking for a vice president with experience and vision, human resources (VP ​​HR) to guide KPU during a period of change and great renewal. After submitting reports directly to the President and Vice -Chancellor, Vice President of Human Resources is a reliable advisor and a major member of the executive team – which is the future of the workforce in KPU, enhancing organizational strategy, and promoting a strong and comprehensive culture in the workplace.
VP Human Resources provides executive leadership via human resources, risks and security on campus, and leads a directly talented portfolio, including deputies of the head of persons and persons’ services; Organizational development managers, employee experience, risks and security; First Director of Labor Relations; And director of the human resources department. This role is both strategic and practical, as it provides an opportunity to influence the strategy of the KPU people, support students’ success, community participation, and institutional priorities.
As the human resources deputy, will:
- It is a reliable adviser to the president, the council and the Supreme Command, directs the strategies of people that are in line with the KPU mission and long -term priorities.
- Employee experience champion, formation of programs and practices that enhance participation, learning, luxury and a sense of belonging across KPU.
- The leadership transformation by updating human resource practices, providing innovative approaches, and assisting the university develops through times of change.
- Providing strategic and operational driving in all human resources jobs – including labor, employment, retention, compensation, organizational development and employee experience.
- Providing leadership in labor relations, including collective negotiation, grievances, conflict resolution, and building strong cooperative trade union relationships.
- Providing supervision and guidance for safety and security risks on campus, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students, faculty and employees.
- Promoting shares, diversity, inclusion and reconciliation in all aspects of the human resources and institutional culture strategy.
- Building strong relationships with faculty members, employees and unions, enhancing cooperation, confidence and an effective solution to complex issues in a union environment.
- Supervising the diverse human resource leadership team, in order to achieve administrative and institutional goals.
- Enhancing communications with KPU societies and cooperation with after high school institutions throughout BC and Canada to exchange experience and enhance best practices.
- The influence on priorities at the institution level as part of the KPU executive leadership team, which contributes to a university that focuses on students, depends on society and comprehensive.
What you are attending
You are an executive of the seasoned human resources who flourish in complex environments and sees an opportunity in times of change. You can bring both strategic experience and operational experience, with a busy record of pioneering shift, building strong teams, and enhancing comprehensive workplaces in a complex trade union environment. You are reliable for integrity, proper judgment, and the ability to inspire confidence in every level of the organization.
We are looking for a person:
- He holds a graduate degree in a related field and has at least 10 years of the expertise of high human resources leadership, perfectly in the public or post -secondary sector.
- It has an attached ability to lead change, update practices, and direct the difference by moving.
- He is sure to advise presidents, councils and great leaders in sensitive human resources and organizational issues.
- It builds credibility through integrity, consistency, transparency and fairness.
- Strong emotional intelligence explains: listens, engages and enhances a respectable and comprehensive work environment.
- Deeply committed to the progress of fairness, diversity, inclusion and reconciliation, and creating a workplace where all employees feel appreciated and supported.
- It brings extensive experience in labor relations, including collective negotiation, grievances, and arbitration.

Salary information
The above compensation range is the range between the minimum and the maximum basic salary of the situation. The initial salary position is usually between the minimum and the maximum.
