the Accounting Biology Center (CCB) from Simonz Foundation‘s Flatron Institute It is actively seeking to obtain a full -time Flatiron research colleagues to join her Biological transportation networks Group in 2026.

The goal of CCB is to advance the understanding of basic biological processes and historical challenges through the development of theory, innovative modeling tools for large vital physical simulation, and the arithmetic frameworks for analyzing large and increasingly complex experimental data groups. Live systems were brilliantly built. As such, CCB’s research activities extend several measures of biological organization, fill the gap between microscopic details and extensive behaviors, and providing natural continuity between our groups’ efforts. CCB currently includes more than 45 research and data scientists in the professional stages of the last doctorate. Graduate through senior scholars, as well as visiting scientists, guest researchers, graduate students, trainees and administrative support staff. The primary goal of the group of biological transport networks is to detect complex relations between the structure of transportation networks, material and developmental restrictions, and their contribution to the general fitness of living organisms that serve them. Ultimately, we seek to integrate the account, theory and experimental data to fill our partial and swimming knowledge of the living processes and the complexities of the wide -ranging networks. By doing this, we look forward to revealing the biological principles that can provide an insight into comparative physiology across different types. It is important to the location of transportation networks through multiple standards, including its function, development and re -display. We use advanced mathematical and theoretical techniques, such as a large -scale flow network simulator, machine learning, and methods of analytical data analysis, to a wide range of problems. Examples include modeling, modeling systems of circulation and invertebrates, enlightened models of transmission of nerve cell growth and maturity, measuring large database groups of fine blood vessels, understanding and integrating non -linear effects into vessels.

Description

Flatiron colleagues in CCB are post -PhD individuals with backgrounds in one or more of the following areas: Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Accounts Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematical Physics, or Related Specializations.

Colleagues are expected to complete an active research program that can be directed independently and/or includes great cooperation with other members of CCB or Flatiron Institute. In addition to their research, it helps colleagues in building the rich scientific community in CCB and Flatiron Institute by participating in seminars, symposium and group meetings; Developing their programs, sports and accounting experiences through internal education opportunities; And the participation of their acquaintances through scientific publications, presentations and/or software publications, with financial support for the institute. Fellows can access the powerful FATRORON Institute Scientific computing resources.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Conduct theoretical and accounting research
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of scientific programs
  • Participate in the organization of CCB and cooperative activities at the Flatiron level, including seminars, workshops and meetings
  • Participate in preparing manuscripts for publication and presentations in scientific conferences
  • Helping to guide students
  • Exchange of experience and provide training and guidance for CCB and visitors as needed.

FRF positions in general for two years can be renewed for the third year, and stop performance. Fellows will be built, and they have an office or work space, at the offices of the Simons Foundation in New York City. Fellows may also be eligible for housing supported close to the Flatron Institute.

Qualifications

education

  • Doctorate in the field of relevant (applied mathematics, statistics, arithmetic biology, biotechnology, computer science, engineering, mathematical physics, or relevant specializations)


Related skills and other requirements

  • Introduction capabilities in mathematical modeling, analysis and/or scientific account, scientific and algorithms, data analysis and reasoning, and images analysis
  • The ability to conduct original and distinct research in organizing biology, experience in mathematical methods, data analysis, software development and algorithm, machine learning for modeling, and scientific simulation
  • The ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment, and to cooperate with experimental
  • Strong oral and written communication, data documents, and presentation skills


Compensation and benefits

  • The full -time annual compensation for this position is $ 91,000.
