Researcher Assistant (Diagnosis of Ethnographic Death) at Sheffield University

Are you a researcher with strong qualitative skills, eager to treat health inequality? We have an exciting opportunity to join a BMA project in Sitran to explore how we can improve timely diagnosis of ethnic societies from South Asia and Black. This is a unique opportunity to use your research experience to make a concrete effect on inclusion and fairness in health care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and culturally sensitive person, with experience in qualitative methods such as interviews, concentration groups or ethnography. You will join a small cooperative team that works closely with NHS memory evaluation services and reliable community partners. Your business will form direct recommendations to make dementia more comprehensive, accessible and focus on the person.

You will play a major role at each stage of the project. This includes conducting systematic literature inspections, contributing to a deadly ehsnary review, supporting the employment of participants, and implementing the ethnographic field work such as notes, interviews and focus groups. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate field notes, supporting copies, safely managing and analyzing results using NVIVO and objective curricula. In addition to collecting and analyzing data, it will help share the results we have reached through workshops, publications and presentations of conferences.

To achieve success in this role, you will need to provide excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to participate in sensitively with various societies. It is necessary to have a degree in relevant discipline (such as psychology, public health, sociology, anthropology, health services) or equivalent experience.

The experience of working with Asian and/or black societies, linguistic skills, or familiarity with systematic and ethnographic review and NVIVO software will be an advantage.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to enhance your qualitative research skills, develop authorship on publications, and gain valuable experience in work in the community research interface and NHS. You will also benefit from counseling from experienced researchers in dementia and implementation sciences. It is expected that some travel inside Sheffield (and cross regional visits) are expected, but flexible, hybrid and partial work options can be discussed and can be discussed during the interview.
