Regional organizer to combat racism and social justice

CFA is a federation of 29,000 faculty members, library secretaries, consultants and coaches in the California State University system (CSU). Since the exclusive mass deposit representative, CFA is negotiating a contract with the CSU administration that enhances academic freedom, supports the rights of faculty members, provides financial protection for faculty members, and enhances the participation of faculty members in CSU governance.

Regional organizer to combat racism and social justice
the Regional organizer Reports to the Director of Anti -Racism and Social Justice (ARSJ) and is responsible for the advancement of the task of fighting racism and social justice throughout the campus within the designated region through the campus -based organization, and developing members ’leaders, and enhancing local participation with the ARSJ strategies at the state level. This role requires an experienced organizer with knowledge shown in the principles of anti -racism and social justice, leadership development, and the ability to implement campaigns effectively.
The applicant must be a self -motivated individual and directed towards the deadline with the willingness and desire to learn new skills, and work with people in academic circles and trade unions.
The basic job duties:
- Work directly with the Chapter Council for the position of representatives of the ethnic and social justice (CRSJ) and the field employees to involve members, develop teams and councils based on campus, and pay the efforts of local organization;
- Organizing and facilitating workshops, lunch and learning, and monthly thinking sessions to enhance participation skills and leadership skills;
- The initiatives and campaigns based on campus are in line with the goals of the ARSJ program, which ensures the integration of the values ​​of combating justice and social justice in all efforts;
- Enhancing a positive work environment through active cooperation, contributing to the team’s efforts, and supporting organizational growth and success;
- Translating ARSJ campaigns at the state level into a local work of strategic and cultural importance and proposing new tactics or methods led by members that respond to local needs;
- Cooperation with the director and the director of the program to ensure local adaptation and comments for programming at the state level
- Documentation and exchange of learning, challenges and members’ stories to inform work at the state level;
- Attendance and contribute to the meetings of the normal section, including checks with ARSJ manager;
- Performing additional tasks as it was appointed to support the task and the goals of comprehensive ARSJ management;
- The ability to interact effectively and professionally with faculty members and employees at all levels of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge, skills and the following capabilities:
- A strong commitment to the progress of the transformation of ethnic and social justice in the union movement, the university and beyond;
- Experience showed in organizing popular rules, especially with Bipoc societies and the complex around justice;
- The ability to apply sweat, class and sexual shares to make strategic decisions and implement the program;
- The ability to work independently, adapt to strategies and advanced conditions, deal with multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict final dates, including monitoring organizational policies and reports requirements;
- Excellent written skills, oral, rhetorical, and analytical skills;
- Solving with both organized cooperation and creative freedom

- The ability to work for long and regular hours, including nights, weekends, and accidental travel;

- Work cooperative and strategically with CFA officers, members, trainees and employees;
- It explains the ability to establish the work of fighting racism and social justice in the daily work of CFA;

Salary/benefits/site: CFA offers a fully paid interest package, including medical pension, teeth, and SEIU and 401 (K) with the employer’s match and paid leave. This position is covered through the collective negotiation agreement; The salary range is 71.089.20 dollars – 144,874.55 dollars commensurate with experience.
