About the role

This is a great opportunity to join Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, and work within the Active Journeys team as our new project official.

As the project official, you will be asked to play a dynamic role in providing a variety of walking, wheel and cycling projects that make a real difference in people’s lives.

In this diverse role, you will be responsible for planning and providing practical activities for young people in schools, supporting the implementation of school streets to create safer and healthy environments, and work closely with the national session network and infrastructure teams regarding community participation in relevant plans. You will deal with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, will build strong relationships to ensure successful implementation of projects, and you will also be responsible for the inclusion of Sustries volunteers into your work to help achieve maximum impact and community participation.

This role includes regular travel, with the implementation of work in various locations to support and deliver projects for Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.

About you

We ask you to have experience in the following areas:

• Experience in managing small projects clearly or experienced in providing work packages as part of the project.
• Experience at work as part of a team and building targeted and cooperative relationships, internally and externally.
• Understanding active travel and issues facing societies that suffer from inequality.
• Knowing and understanding the theories and tools for changing behavior.
• Knowledge and experience in applying health and safety procedures, including risk assessment
• Knowing the principles of protection.
• Experience in leading team workshops and presenting them to the public online and personally.
• The ability to “flexibility” through various projects in the various delivery stages and local contexts.
