Call to Applications (short version)

Doctorate in Mathematics and Applications at the University of Bukoni is a four -year -old program that is studied in English. It is a strategic initiative that relies on internationally recognized faculty members, the vibrant research environment, and the mission of the Bocconi University to enhance multidisciplinary innovation. The administration has a strong tradition in both pure and applied mathematics, with many faculty members carrying prestigious ERC scholarships.

Curricula and temporal schedule

The first year provides strict basic training in the heart of mathematical analysis – which leads to students quickly to the limits of research and enable them to launch a fundamental research agenda – and is complemented by choices that may cover other areas of mathematics or, depending on their interests, economics, financing, statistics or automatic learning. The second year completes this preparation, as it provides a point of view towards requests and provides advanced courses directed towards the research, which is taught by visiting professors. The program was organized accordingly: the research begins in the first year and gradually develops. The third and fourth year is allocated for research and thesis writing, with opportunities for international research visits and exchanges.

In addition to a strong essence in advanced mathematical analysis, the program provides distinguished opportunities for multidisciplinary cooperation in economics, finance, decision theory and computer science, in line with the bouquet traditions in social sciences.

Members of the faculty and visiting scientists

The college includes internationally recognized researchers in mathematical analysis, applied and accounting mathematics, decision -making and sports financing. The program also benefits from reliable visiting professors who offer short monochromatic sessions on border themes.

Functions

A doctorate degree in mathematics and applications is designed for students who stimulate it with a high degree to find out the first -class research professions in academic circles, research institutes, quantitative roles in industry and finance, as well as strategic consultations, research research, improvement, and AI/ML laboratories.

Admission file

Recatched candidates are highly qualified and motivated with a master’s degree in mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, data science, engineering, or related areas to apply.

Student support

PhD school teachers and job services are available to support candidates during the application and students throughout their studies.

Applications can be submitted by candidates for any nationality:

• Complete or complete their higher studies
• You have at least the B2 level (CEFR)

To obtain a doctorate in mathematics and applications, a doctoral school provides:

• A maximum of 4 places with a fully funded fellowship by the Tech Eurobe Foundation (TEF)

The evaluation depends on a filter:

• CV (mandatory);
• Academic records (mandatory);
• The goal statement (mandatory);
• Up to three reference (non -mandatory) messages

Evaluation criteria are as follows:

• A maximum of 60 points for the training course in the curriculum and academic records of the applicant;
• A maximum of 40 points to show the purpose and reference messages.

At least 60 points out of 100 are required to be eligible for admission to the program.
