Summary of the job

Basic responsibilities

  • Supervising the management and processing of grievances, listening sessions, arbitration, and relevant activities.

  • Develop campaigns for the work site issue that involve members and helps them to address and solve major regular problems.
  • Interpretation of collective negotiation agreements and other laws, symbols, regulations, policies and relevant practices and assisting members of the union in understanding their rights.
  • Lawyers of the Aid Union and other union employees in preparing hearings, including investigation and preparing witnesses and exhibitions.
  • Helping members of the Federation in achieving unofficial decisions of work related to work.
  • As a major negotiator for negotiator or backups of specific negotiating units.
  • Conducting bargaining surveys, salary surveys, and other research activities to enhance the negotiating position of specific bargaining units.
  • Participate in developing and implementing effective industry strategies and coordinated activities to raise standards.
  • Determine work problems and/or important departments and develop strategies and tactics to effectively address them, including petitions, collective grievances, work procedures, media events, and legal procedures.

Job qualifications

  • You must have general knowledge of the Labor laws in Michigan, including PERA, MERC and Michigan SUBLE SABICE SRIPTS.
