The main purpose of the job
The main purpose of this position is to facilitate the planning and implementation of recovery support activities. This position meets with clinical employees and members of the treatment team and provides inputs in developing a recovery plan and steps to reduce barriers that prevent recovery. Customers respond to crises and help the agency in our mission to enhance and improve the health of our society.
The minimum qualifications
expertise: One year of experience in providing peer recovery support services.
Note: Candidates may replace the experience of military service in the armed forces as a non -authorized officer in specialized peer classifications or peer specialist and rules for specialization in the field of health related to the required experience.
Licensing, recordings and certificates
1. Candidates to hold positions in this classification must have a current certificate as a specialist to recover peers within 12 months from the date of rental from the MAPCB vocational certificate council in 10807 Falls RD. , #1376, Brooklandville, MD 21022.
2. Employees can be set in this classification duties that require a car operation. The appointed employees will be asked for such duties to have a valid car operator license in Maryland.
Special requirements
1. In this classification who fails to obtain the required certificate at the end of 24 months of continuous employment with the employment department to take disciplinary measures, including reduction, suspension and separation.
2. The applicants for this classification must be in a state of recovery for a period of two years of drug use, mental disorder, or joint disorder before they are employed as a specialist to recover peers, approved.
3. Employees in this classification must complete any additional training that is necessary and appropriate to maintain the required certificate.
4. In this classification, employees are subject to a drug abuse test, according to the rules of Maryland State 17.04.09, and the illegal use of drug use.
