TEAMSTERS LOCAL 804 is approximately 8,000 members through New York City, Long Island and Weststster Province.

Local 804 is working on a long -term campaign targeting a large employer in companies and had great negative effects on both workers and societies surrounding them. We are looking for new organizers who want to expand their skills group by organizing workers. Organizing colleagues He will learn the skills required to organize workers and build adequate strength to gain concrete gains from employers. They will be closely instructed by expert union organizers with a group of other colleagues. This is the New York -based full -time job with a minimum of commitment for one year. Organizational experience is welcomed, but those who do not have organizational experience are still encouraged to apply. This fellowship will act as a slope of new organizers interested in gaining experience in organizing the workplace.

Basic responsibilities:

• He met constantly with the organized guide and the fellowship group
• Learn and implement crucial and real organizational methods and tactics to build workers’ strength
• Building participation and commitment to workers ’leaders through the organizing committees
• Planning and implementing procedures and events to support workers’ organization efforts
• Maintaining data tracking systems with regular inputs of new contacts and member participation in the database
• Holding small to large -scale organizational meetings and activities to support the organization’s efforts

• Excellent skills in dealing with others, listening, oral, and written
• The ability to work well with a team, excite the main issues, and motivate others to take the necessary measures

• A strong commitment to working with people of various backgrounds and cultures

• Prepare to work with an unconventional schedule, including night hours and weekends
