the Institute of Fisheries Management (IFM) It is a professional organization that is not intended for profit to enhance the management of sustainable fish fisheries. Since 1969, we have gathered experts and practitioners from all over the sector – organizers, researchers, water companies, fishing organizations and fisheries, aquaculture and academic circles.

We play a vital role in forming a policy of fish fisheries, providing high -quality training, educational programs, and events ranging from local site visits to international conferences.

Role

We are looking for proactive and enthusiastic Development official To join our small but dynamic team. This is a diverse role that combines event coordination, training, membership participation, communications and partnership support.

You will work closely with colleagues, members and partners to enhance our activities, including early supporting professionals and helping training programs and relying on IFM.

Main responsibilities:

Events and training

  • Helping to organize conferences, seminars, workshops and regional events.
  • Support the development and provision of training courses and supporting materials.
  • Supervising the IFM fisheries monitoring scheme and IFM Trineship.
  • Help in producing events and training materials.

Communications and marketing

  • Help manage the IFM website on the web, social media and e -communication platforms.
  • Contribute to the production of IFM magazine fish and other awareness resources, and work closely with the marketing team.

Membership and participation

  • Work with the membership team to enhance services and participate with members.
  • Early support for professional professionals in its activities and development.
  • Communicate with and support the regional branches of IFM.

Partnerships and accreditation

  • Manage the Institute’s relationship with the Environmental Association for the Granting of the Charter.
  • Watch a response to inquiries via IFM training and information accounts.

Person specifications

The ideal filter will appear a mixture of technical knowledge, communication skills and organizational ability. The role requires a proactive and self -motivated individual, able to manage a group of responsibilities within a small but dynamic team.

Basic standards

  • Excellent communication and personal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across the sectors.
  • Strong organizational skills, with experience in managing multiple projects, final dates and priorities.
  • An appropriate qualification and related work experience in fisheries, water sciences, or environmental management.
  • Knowledge or experience in education, training or professional development
  • Self -excited with the ability to work independently and as part of the team.
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Prepare to travel frequently and work away from home as required, including weekends.

Desired criteria

  • Technical background in fisheries, aquatic environment or a close field.
  • Written skills and good information technology, including the ability to provide information clearly in various formats (such as reports, presentations and digital media).
  • The experience of working with websites, social media or digital communication tools.
