Assistant/Associate Professor of Architecture, Tulane University

Description of the situation

Tulane University School of Architecture (Tusabe) is seeking qualified candidates in the discipline of Architecture to fill multiple Assistant or Associate Professor of Architecture positions (tenure track/tenure track).

Our growing architecture program seeks candidates whose expertise in coherent and compelling design pedagogy is combined, with strong qualifications and enthusiasm for teaching core design studios and core courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. While experience in history and theory is welcome, candidates are expected to be able to translate these skills into design studio pedagogy. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate excellence in architectural design studio teaching and in teaching, research and creative practice in one or more of the The following areas:

  • Computational design, media and representation

  • Energy modeling, circularity, and decarbonisation

  • Tectonic building and structural design

Successful candidates will support our educational mission and teach design studios, lectures and seminar courses related to their area of ​​expertise. Tusabe faculty offer coursework courses across architecture programs (B.Arch, BSA, M.Arch and MSARC) With the opportunity to cooperate with other programs within the school.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a matching degree in architecture (Master of Architecture) or a specialized graduate, doctoral or doctoral degree. in architecture or related fields. Professional licensure in the United States (or international equivalent) is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate competence in their area of ​​expertise and demonstrate a commitment to rigorous design research and innovative curriculum development.
