Acting has been improved, but many women managers still lack fundamental roles in India’s halls
About 98 % of the BSE-200 companies now include at least one manager, one woman on her paintings according to the joint study conducted by Kaitan & Co and AON and women who lead-“Existence to influence: women progress in Indian management halls.” However, despite this progress, the report found that the participation of women is often symbolic, as many directors lack fundamental roles in making decisions in the Board of Directors.
The report combines the formation of the Board of Directors from BSE 200 (Fiscal Year 2023-24) with visions of interviews with 40 independent women. It highlights that 77 % of BSE 200 has only 1-2 women on their paintings, which limits the diversity of thought and sharing with meaning, a trend that continues even in larger councils with 15 or more members.
While women formed nearly one -fifth of the directors in the leading companies, Sukanya Hazarika, director of Khaitan & Co, said: “India’s progress cannot be denied … However, maintaining diversity in cancellation councils will require us to go beyond compliance. The strongest judgment, innovation and competitive advantage in the long run.”
The report found that only 11 % of BSE’s women managers occupy executive positions, compared to 65 % of men, noting the continuous exclusion of women from the roles of the main strategic and operational decisions. The missing representation is more clear at the level of the president, with only 7 % of BSE 200 and 5 % of the NIFTY-500 Board of Directors. These attitudes are decisive to direct strategic decisions, the culture of the board of directors and the limited presence of women in these situations, highlighting the gap between acting and real influence. Even in the Board of Directors, women remain an incomplete representative, representing 23 % of NRC and CSR seats, but only 14 % on risk management committees, decreased from about 30 % in 2023.
“The management halls are strong spaces where the main decisions and people in the room have the ability to influence change. To achieve a real sexual insertion at the top, organizations must rethink boldly in their strategies and focus on ways to build critical mass of acting with harnessing the strength of inclusion also to ensure women’s participation in issues and defenders about Plugs, according to the first results, are still a path in the first track.
The report says. BSE has 200 companies led by women on average executive managers by 31 % representation of the female council, nearly twice the 17.7 % seen in male -led companies. However, women’s executives represent only 6 % of driving, with a highlight of the urgent need to accelerate women’s progress in major executive roles. The research also indicates that companies with 4-6 women tend to report a higher sexual diversity and a continuous progress in the desired workplace policies.
“The most important part is the action plan, which calls on all the ecological system players to create a dialogue on the place where we want to see change, and what measures can be taken to create a permanent impact. This will be a positive result of the company’s growth and the greater ecological system,” added Abha Pakaya, founder and CEO – women who lead.
