The Warwick Mathematics Institute invites requests for Warwick Ziman lecture (WZL), to start in September 2026. We have two available functions, open to all areas of pure and applied mathematics.
Wzls are temporary dates for three specific years. It provides the opportunity to join an excellent mathematics section, with time to follow independent research while gaining experience in lectures and management that will enhance any future application to obtain a permanent academic position.
About you
All applicants must obtain a doctorate and be actually distinguished in research and the ability to teach effectively.
We aim to appoint people in these two platforms who can make a strong contribution to both our research and education, and who will benefit from the opportunities provided by our vibrant administrative culture.
In the past, many WZLS extended their appointment period by combining this post with a Early Leverhulme Fellowship This gives a good indication of this type of job stage and the level of independence we expect for this position.
