Technical specialist – forensic science at the University of Nottingham Trent

About the role

One of the exciting vacancies arose for a technical science specialist to manage a group of laboratories, crime scene training facility, and a small team of technicians. The role includes working with the academic team for criminal science to support teaching and research projects at the level of master’s, in the fields of investigation in the crime scene and examination of physical evidence.

The postal holder will be responsible for ensuring that criminal science laboratories and crime training facility are kept on the highest standards of health, safety, hygiene and organization. The equipment inside these spaces (such as DCS5, GL Scan, Esda, etc) will be preserved for students during practical sessions. Training will also be implemented for equipment for research students and junior employees. Excellent communication skills are necessary to contact the academic team to identify technical requirements, manage the work burden in the technical team, and help students in laboratories as necessary.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual and motivation with relevant experience, either in the education/high training environment, or industry. Ideally, the mail holder will have previous administrative experience.

It is also expected to be flexible and support for colleagues and students in other fields of the College of Science and Technology, as part of a technical team at the school level.

Other basic functions of the function are the organization, leadership, and the ability to adapt and adhere to a high -quality experience for customers.
