The Department of Mathematics at Salem University at Salem University seeks to employ a full -time faculty member in the field of possession to work as a coordinator of foundational mathematics. By working with various stakeholders throughout the university, the coordinator of founding mathematics is supervised by evaluation, employment, and support for programming for students who take math courses early at Salem State University. Successful candidates will hold a doctorate degree in mathematics or mathematics education with a clear interest or experience in researching university mathematics. This position is an open rank.

Over the past few years, the SSU Mathematics Department has participated actively in improving the evaluation, employment and support of students who take mathematics courses. This includes the experience of both the policy of evaluating the new departments, in addition to working with the Academic Excellence Center (CAE), the registrar’s office, and the Academic Resources Center (CAAR) on the best way to evaluate the coming students who take mathematics and provide them with support for success in credit mathematics courses. In the fall of 2026, the administration expects the implementation of a new evaluation and evaluation policy at the university level for all new students, in addition to the course of a 1-credit mathematics support laboratory for students who suffer from the need to support foundational mathematics.

Duties and responsibilities

Candidates are required to perform duties according to the faculty contract at the Massachusetts State College (MSCA). Duties include teaching, presentation, scholarships, and contributions to the continuous improvement of the department and university.

Required qualifications

• PhD in mathematics, mathematics education, or relevant field.
• Experience and effectiveness that was shown in university teaching.

• Experience in implementing and evaluating employment and support programs for students who take mathematics courses.
• He showed the interest and experience in the search for teaching and learning university mathematics.
• Experience in working with a heterogeneous student body.
