Overview of the situation

Nanaimo seeks to obtain a full -time scheme. Under the supervision of the applicant planning and development director, the job operator is responsible for reviewing the development requests to ensure compliance in favor of the applicable cities, policies, guidelines and related legal requirements. The first plan coordinates referrals, helps in preparing and managing legal documents, and facilitates public listening sessions and participation operations, while supporting the provision of departments services in a manner that focuses on customers in a timely manner.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a certificate in urban planning, geography, architecture, or architecture of landscapes or relevant discipline from a recognized educational institution, as well as at least two years experience in municipal planning, including response to planning information requests, independently reviewing planning applications and/or policy development, and ensuring legal procedural commitment. An equivalent mix of education and experience can be considered. The eligibility of membership at the Canadian Institute of Planning and/or the Planning Institute in British Columbia is required, in addition to possessing a valid driver’s license BC.

Additional information
This is the position of the unit of the cup bargaining based on a 35 -hour working week, and it is subject to Article 1 (D) – the test period as stipulated in the union collective agreement. The wage is 45.56 dollars, and it increases to 47.96 dollars after 60 working days (January 2025 rates). The level of wages for this position is subject to confirmation according to the job evaluation plan that has been jointly negotiated between the Federation/Administration.
