The Village School in North Bennington has an immediate opening of a full-time consultant/overclocking for the academic year 2025-2026. School Adviser/behavioral intervention provides support to students according to EST, IEP plans or 504 and may provide support to other short -term students to other students, as needed. In addition, the school/behavioral intervention also provides academic and behavioral support for emotional and behavioral individuals or small groups of students, which enhances education when needed or as directed by the school and/or the head of the school. This role supports the provision of academic services to students who have behavioral and academic challenges by providing intense therapeutic support in the less restricted environment so that students can succeed in school.
Main responsibilities and major duties:
- Work 1: 1 or in small groups with students who show difficult behaviors to provide targeted interventions, provide supervision of students in crises, and work to cancel escalation and organization with the aim of reintegration to the semester.
- It works directly with teachers, support staff, specialists and officials when assessing the social/behavioral needs of students and in designing and implementing behavior management plans to meet the needs of students
- When the reintegration of the semester is not possible, save 1: 1 or academic instructions for the small group in a separate environment with subjects from the classroom teacher until the reintegration is possible.
- Collecting behavior data, monitoring student progress and working with BCBA to adjust intervention strategies.
- Make the classroom notes to determine the potential behavior players for individual students in order to help teachers develop and implement procedures, procedures and expectations appropriate classroom.
- Cooperation with members of the student services team to provide behavior support for students on IP and 504 plans; Participate in EST, IEP and 504 meetings on request.
- Communication with families to discuss behavior concerns and intervention and progress strategies
- Radio should be held at all times in order to help manage the positions of crises that include students on the basis of demand
- Supporting teachers and employees with the reset of the classroom and removing students as necessary.
- Providing periodic instructions on topics on behavior management techniques for faculty and employees during professional development during service.
- Delivery of all “children’s care” and “We Care Elementary”, as required by Vermont aoe.
- Providing advice services for students on IEP, 504 or EST plans; It may provide short -term support for other students, as needed
- Other responsibilities were appointed by the head of the school and/or assistant head of the school

The minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, required
- A license in school counseling and/or clinical consultations for mental health, required
- The current CPI certificate, required
- Previous experience in working with children at an elementary age with social, emotional and/or behavioral challenges in an educational or therapeutic environment, required
- The experience of working with students on IEPS or 504s, preferably preferred
- Previous experience in creating and implementing behavior plans and/or monitoring, preferred heavily
- You must have a strong understanding of FerPa with the ability to maintain strict secrecy in school and students’ records
- Organizational, personal skills and strong contact must be shown
