The senior audit and reports employees are appointed to a senior manager, and he is a review officer who is a senior legal officer in Worksafebc in accordance with the requirements of the Workers Compensation Law.

You will be appointed in a team, however you will work independently to manage and decide on disputed problems that are often controversial and complex. Where will you do?

In Worksafebc, we offer a hybrid business model that combines work remotely, and in our offices, based on the operational needs of the situation.

In this role, you will work primarily from our office in Richmond, with some flexibility to work from your home in British Columbia, please note that it is expected to work full time on the site during the training period.

What will you do?

As a review official, you will submit, document and document decisions in writing, within the legal time frameworks, after compensation, rehabilitation, prevention and/or evaluation reviews. These decisions are published and it is a supplier of stakeholders in Worksafebc.

Although it is not responsible for providing direct supervision, it will provide the direction of work and will be a member of the corporate management team. The decisions of the audit employee are the final decisions of Worksafebc, taking into account the WCAT Appeals Court (WCAT), or in some cases, for judicial review by the courts.

  • Effective trainer and teacher
  • Explanation of information clearly and accurately, and to summarize the information verbally at an appropriate level for the intended audience
  • Generating creative options to solve problems using a proper judgment and maintain objectivity
  • Listen to the activity and application of the techniques of conducting interviews/interrogation to collect and clarify information from a variety of parties
  • Prepare the written decisions that are fair, well related, and understandable to the parties using a clear language
  • It is treated fairly and sympathy for customer needs in an environment that may be sensitive, aggressive, or hostile
  • Adaptation to technological change and others
  • Understanding the history of the indigenous population in Canada and contributing to our organization’s commitment to reconciliation with the indigenous peoples
  • Understanding, communicating and interacting effectively with people through different cultures and backgrounds

Your background and your experience

  • A The minimum bachelor’s degree and Five years of judgment, complex decisions or legal practice required
  • Sophisticated written, analytical, organizational and personal skills
  • Experience in compensation for workers or personal injuries compensation systems is one of the assets
