Business Development Director at the Cancer Research Institute

Hours per week: 35 hours a week (full time)
location: Soton/Chelsea. This role is qualified for hybrid work.

About the role
We are looking for a business development director to join the business office and innovation of the ICR Research Institute and contribute to supporting a group of academics by protecting and marketing their research, supporting them in securing translation financing and highlighting them with the benefits of working with the industry. A successful candidate will play a major role in evaluating the strategic project, participating stakeholders, protecting IP, making commercial deals (cooperation and licensing), and supporting translation financing.
Main responsibilities
- Determining and evaluating the commercially viable research
- IP protection and the management of secrecy agreements
- Formulating and negotiating licensing and negotiating contracts
- Support for translation financing applications
- Pay paid opportunities
About you
We are looking for a proactive team player directed towards the details.
- PhD, Master of Business Administration or its equivalent in a related field
- Experience in business development or technology transfer
- Direct experience in negotiating and closing with external partners
- Strong communication, negotiation and organizational skills
