salary: Usually, the start -up salary in the range is 29,647 pounds, to 31,460 pounds, with a possible time in the post to 35,388 pounds.

Role summary

Technical experience, support and counseling will provide the Colls Vitanitarian Establishment. This includes the analytical capacity of sedental isotope analyzes in both solid and liquid stages, as well as advanced biological signs analyzes, including identifying the compounds of the compound. Nowadays, the IRMS IRMS is used, with both solid and liquid automatic factors, to analyze δ18Q, δ13C, δ2H and δ15N. Analysis of vital molecular marks and content analysis is performed by GC-FID, GC-ECD, racist and GC-MS, with a specific analog analysis composed by GC-Yer-SS.

The mail holder is expected to maintain the laboratory equipment (the above elements and the associated equipment), request consumables, writing CosH, evaluating the laboratory risk and standard operating procedures when necessary.

The postal holder will also provide support and contribute to the activities of the college under the supervision of the coach and the director of operations as required.

Main duties

  • Run, maintenance, and oversee the use of an environmental mass spectrum.
  • Implementing or assisting experiments in the facility.
  • Provide advice on the techniques and experimental procedures used by researchers and/or students. This will include communication with individuals in a set of levels and experience.
  • Diagnosing and solving problems and suggesting solutions related to technologies and experiments.
  • Contact directly and work closely with PIS, researchers after doctorate, university students and other internal and external users in projects and experiments.
  • Maintaining accurate records for all the technologies and experimental procedures that they implement.
  • Lead to ensure data quality for all data that comes out of the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation related to the field of research/activity.
  • Contribute to internal and external audit procedures and organizational inspection.
  • Explining and repairing errors and contacting technical problems and communicating with the manufacturer to organize maintenance visits and scheduled services.
  • Contribute to the facility bill and maintenance of the facility’s budget.
  • Promoting the facility internally and externally, for example, keeping the site and sharing with potential external users.

Person specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master in Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences or Engineering Discipline.
  • Laboratory experience of stable isotopes and/or molecular analytical techniques.
  • In -depth practical knowledge of relevant technical and scientific methods.
  • The positive service position shows a courtesy in dealing with others.
  • The ability to organize and manage private work burden and show flexibility in terms of work/requirements.
  • The ability to work under the minimum supervision, but work as part of the team.
  • Knowing the current legislation related to the role.
  • Knowing the current H&S policies and the ability to support the same thing.
