The News Group Legal Team provides legal support for opening, transactions and production for news group and news room companies, including NBC News, NBCU Local and Telemundo Network. The team is primarily at the Rockefeller Center in New York City, with some lawyers in Miami.

Power -over view:
The great advisor will focus primarily on transactions to support Dateline NBC and NBC studios. Senior Lawyer will also support Longform and a group of commercial transactions in all news group real estate.

Responsibilities:
• Support NBC News Studios, Dateline NBC, and other programming the long news group at all stages, from development/stadium, production and post -production to sale and distribution. The types of content content are not open, special shows, movies, podcasts, textual adaptations, and events, via platforms including television, broadcast, sound and play.
• Negotiating and draft deals with NBC News Studios and Dateline NBC (such as the production company) and our news companies (obtaining content from content or joint development with a third party production company). Types of deals include shopping/development/attachment, production services, joint production, joint financing, manager, executive product, talent, consultant, seller, theatrical distribution, licensing, and rights acquisition.
• Provide advice on relevant intellectual property issues, production, distribution and marketing. In close cooperation with the NewS Legal Media Team, which provides editorial legal support to the news group journalists, it is advised about how to move in potential rights, content responsibility, and similar issues that can affect production and distribution.
• Work as a general legal and strategic advisor for NBC News and executive teams of a group of legal issues, for example, union obligations, sharing background, intellectual property rights and protection, legal conclusions, artificial intelligence, security, compliance, and other production issues.
• Negotiating and drafting other general commercial agreements to support NBC News Group, such as events, content licensing, subsidiary, sponsor, seller, and partnership contracts. It covers the areas of objective objective deals, broadcasting, sound, e -commerce, subscription, events and liberal cooperation.
• Provide advice on strategy, deal structure, risk, and conflict resolution.
• Improving and simplifying related contracts and operations to push speed, competencies and revenues.
• The partner, cooperation with colleagues in law, finance, risk management, content distribution and other departments throughout the company. Work with IP Legal to record the content of the news group with the Copyright Office in the United States. Cooperation with lawyers who support NBCU films and entertainment to ensure the consistency of terms, approach and best practices.
• Contributing to a comprehensive and cooperative team culture; Take an initiative to provide value; Support the production and distribution of the highest quality news content in this industry.

Qualifications

Basic requirements:
• 7 years of business and legal affairs experience in a television network, broadcast service, production company, or the main law company. Legal experience in the non -encrypted series, special offers, and/or documentary films news is highly preferred.
• An excellent understanding of all legal issues related to the production and distribution of news and documentary films (favorite) or entertainment content, including the law of copyright and intellectual property.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, drafting, problem solving, and analytical skills.
