There is a vacant job for a research position in Mediafutures: Research Center for responsible media technology. The situation is for two years. We are looking for an ambitious and self -motivated colleague to join us in Mediafuirs: Research Center for responsible media technology.

Mediafutures is a research center on the research hosted by Bergen University and is located in the media, Bergen. The center is part of the Norwegian Research Council. Mediafutures cooperate with industry partners from media and media research topics such as media and confidence experiences, recommendation technology, content production and analysis, content interaction and availability, and Norwegian language technology. The goal is to develop responsible technological solutions to societal challenges such as artificial intelligence, fake news, echo and political polarization rooms. The results will be new digital tools, methods of analysis and types of content for the future. The center trains research in media and innovation technology. This creates outputs such as new initial models, research articles and programs, as well as innovative startups.

The primary goal

Unified research and innovation agenda is presented at the center by conducting and coordinating research, with a special focus on media technology driven by artificial intelligence.

Main responsibilities

• Performing research by broadcasting:
  • Development, leadership and implementation of research activities that exceed the areas of multiple research and innovation.
  • Contribute to joint research outputs and initial models of innovation that merge the results of different flows.
  • Submit a request for grant requests that lie in the center of the center’s strategic interest, integrate research and develop the center’s research portfolio.
• Facilitate the integration of knowledge:
  • Bridge work packages and research fields, ensuring the harmonization of goals and research trends.
  • Determine cooperation opportunities and start joint activities.
• Coordination of the research unification layer at the center:
  • Work as a researcher responsible for scientific coordination in this class.
  • Support strategic decisions by synthesizing search results and visions.
• Publishing and publishing the results:
  • The author and co -author, who was reviewed by the peers.
  • Current results in leading conferences, workshops and industry events.
  • Production of reports that summarize achievements through broadcasting and influence.
• Organizing scientific activities:
  • The start and coordination of meetings, workshops and cooperative events to exchange knowledge.
  • Strong scientific dialogue between academic circles and industry partners.

The situation officially provides reports to the director of the center at Mediafutures, which may delegate additional tasks and other tasks over time.

Qualifications and personal qualities:

• The applicant should carry a Norwegian doctorate degree, a bonus degree in computer science, information science, or any field closely related. It is a condition that the doctoral thesis be presented by the time of request and that the doctorate was granted on the date of the start of the situation.
• The competencies and skills that appear in programming and statistical analyzes (for example, in Python, R, etc.) are a requirement.
• The background in media technology and AI is a condition, and knowledge in the areas of the center’s research.
• The applicant must be able to work independently and in an organized manner, as well as the ability to cooperate with others and coordinate work.
• Efficiency in both written and oral English (this is the work language in the center).
