Post -PhD Research (Spark) at Edinburgh University
Full time: 35 hours a week
Fixed range: 2.5 years old
Opportunity:
You will conduct experimental research and analyze quantitative data on your choice of UK/Scotland parliaments (mixed roads); Germany/Bavaria (mixed roads); UK, Scotland, Germany and Bavaria (quantitative methods); Or another composition. You will compose the project’s outputs and co -author and engage in publishing activities, both for academic and non -academic stakeholders, which contributes to a systematic study and comparison of parliaments (and actors and officials in them) as consumers, producers and mediators of knowledge. Contributions in qualitative research will require personal field work between 3 to 6 months in relevant parliamentary institutions (i.e. London, Edinburgh, Berlin, Munich or a mixture of them).
This post is set for 30 months available from early February 2026, and ends no later than January 31, 2029.
This publication is announced as full -time (35 hours a week) and the postal holder is required for at least three days a week.
The salary of this post ranges 41,064 pounds to 48,822 pounds annually.
Your skills and characteristics for success:
- Doctorate (or equivalent) in related social sciences (for example, politics, sociology or science and technology studies), with training or related skills of the project.
- Related training in specific and/or quantitative research methods, to an advanced level.
- Clear knowledge of political science research on the policy of relevant case study sites
- The ability to compose high -quality academic publications and meet the relevant final dates.
- Related language skills to conduct advanced research on case study parliaments (i.e. English and/or German).
