Opportunity:

We invite requests to Post -PhD Researcher (literacy) To be a key member of a new research project.Re -writing Wor (L) DS: Achievement through disciplines and participatory on how to support hair to the erasure of illiteracy for young people and its well -beingThe project is funded by Ukry, led by future colleague of the future leaders, Dr. Patrick Erengton.

The project brings together a wide range of methods to investigate how to enhance reading/creative writing activities from the experience of small peoples (between the ages of 12-18) of poetry, translating these results into academic outputs, advocacy initiatives, and creating an intervention in reading/writing mobile devices called Rewriter. Participatory research project will be produced with a small team of young researchers who will inform the project, and will include qualitative interviews with young people across the UK, workshops with follow -up questionnaires, research analysis and data related to existing cohorts from partner organizations.

The postal holder will be the central member of the field of literacy and joint production, and works closely with the Errington project with the project and with the professor participating in research Sarah McGown for the design and implementation of individual interviews and post -work group questionnaires and the resulting data analysis. It is important, the postal holder will work with the team members to organize and support joint production sessions with the young researcher team, exchange developments and results with the team and encourage their inputs on future trends.

When implementing this role, the post holder will be encouraged to learn and develop new skills and methods, both quality and quantity, exchange knowledge with and gain visions from other work paths and team members, cooperate with project partners, and participate with young societies and academic researchers throughout the United Kingdom and abroad. The postal holder will also get training in customized skills and professional guidance from members of the research team and the broader and non -academic networks to support all of their work in the project and their professional goals in the long term.

This full -time post (35 hours per week); However, we are open to looking at flexible action patterns. We are also open to considering hybrid work requests (on a non -contracting basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular work on campus.

Your skills and characteristics for success:

  • Doctorate (complete or thesis presented) in education, literature or relevant field.
  • Experience in working with young people (between the ages of 12 and 18 years) perfectly with regard to reading and/or writing and in the joint research settings of society.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing specific data.
  • A strong initiative and independence in managing the research work burden.
  • Interest in cooperation, participation of skills and knowledge, and learning from a very specialized multidisciplinary research team.
