Research topic: “Wireless Networks for the next generation”, “signaling”, “machine learning”
UK only
How to apply: uom.link/PGR-Apply-2425
This doctoral project aims to design new resource distribution methods and sign processing using automated learning technologies to enhance flexibility, efficiency and security of huge cells free of cells, which are expected to play a major role in the next generation of 6G wireless networks.
The huge cell -free MIMO is a great progress in wireless communications, where a large number of access points are cooperated to serve users without the borders of traditional cells. This architecture provides improved coverage, user fairness, and spectral efficiency, which makes it necessary for applications such as independent transport, smart cities, industrial automation and important communications. One of the main challenges in the huge cell -free MIMO is to maintain high performance under dynamic channel conditions, devices defects, and potential hostile overlap, while ensuring effective energy and developmental operation.
This doctoral project will focus on developing automated learning algorithms to enable the strong channel estimate, the smart user association, allocate adaptive resources, operate the effective package, and operate the safety network. The research will aim to build flexible and safe networks capable of supporting a wide range of difficult applications.
In this project, students will have the opportunity to work alongside leading international research teams and industrial partners at the forefront of Beyond-5G and 6G technologies. The results of this research are expected to contribute greatly to both academic knowledge and practical applications, which helps to form the next generation of flexible and smart wireless communication systems.
Applicants must have, or expect to achieve, at least, at least 2.1 degrees or master’s degree (or international equivalent) in the field of relevant science or engineering.
*Solid background in mathematics, programming and machine learning.
*Attention or experience in wireless communications, signal processing, or 6G technologies.
