Fully funded PhD students (Social Media and Politics Observatory in London) in Royal Holway, University of London
the London Social Media Observatory It is welcomed by doctoral applications on issues related to social media (SM) and politics. Applications that focus on organizing/moderate political content will be granted on SM platforms and/or those that suggest the use of quantitative/arithmetic methods. Applicants are also encouraged to think about the societal influence of their research, for example, on how some observatory partners (such as Offcom and the Electoral Commission) and policy makers benefit from research. The candidate will work on his own project, but he will also have the opportunity to cooperate with other projects within the observatory. The candidate will also benefit from the Observatory resources, such as the time of the data engineer to support their data groups, its wide networks of major international scientists, participation in international projects, conference financing and training. The Observatory is a new research laboratory created and directed by Dr. Andro Casas and is funded by Ukra The Observatory hosts many SM and politics projects, and it consists of 6-8 employees, including researchers after the doctorate, doctorate, media, politics, and research aides. Regardless of the conduct of advanced research in these areas, the observatory focuses in particular on general awareness and societal impact. We currently have partnerships with Offcom and the election committee to conduct research and produce policy outputs in common areas of interest. We also plan to organize general events for practitioners, journalists, policy makers and the general public.
This is the fully funded doctoral students for 3.5 years (42 months). The student is expected to present his thesis during the financing period. The award pays tuition fees to a full -time value house Ukraine rate to obtain a doctorate degree. The salary for the year 2025/26 is 22,780 pounds per year (which already includes London allowance at a value of 2000 pounds per year). In addition, the student will have the opportunity to work for a few hours a week in other research projects for the observatory, or (from the second year ascending) as an teaching assistant in the Department of Politics and International Relations. However, the amount of fine hours, in addition to the average clock, will differ according to the needs and accurate duties throughout the doctorate. A doctoral student will also have access to conference travel funds, and to collect data (for example a survey, or a survey/investigation experience) for a doctorate project.
Candidates must have a master’s degree (with discrimination, or entitlement with discrimination in the thesis) in political science, communications science, economics, or in my account, as long as the candidate also has experience in conducting research in the field of social sciences.
