Full-time professional faculty center-drawing and institutional design for animation, Brigham Yong University
The Design Department at the University of Brigham Young seeks to obtain qualified applicants to fully -time professional faculty members, starting from the fall 2026. The position may also be filled with visiting faculty members. This position may also serve the clarification program. The Animation Program at Brigham Young University is a multidisciplinary program between design departments, theatrical arts, media and computer science. The animation program consists of full -time faculty members in the design department, full -time faculty members in the Department of Performing Arts and Media, and three faculty members within the Computer Science Department, and they offer a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. As a professional teaching FTE, this position will be evaluated in the areas of citizenship and professional service. This position will be closed on November 15, 2025.
A Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts is needed in entertainment design, illustration, animation, drawing, drawing, industrial design, other appropriate specialization or master’s degree in fine arts in relevant majors. The filter must have a wide background in drawing, drawing and design concepts for animation. Wide -scale professional candidates are encouraged to design concepts and entertainment to apply. QualificationsThe ideal candidate would provide a portfolio showing evidence of the technical drawing capacity from photographic to environmental topics, the ability to draw in traditional or digital media, understanding, composition, color theory, perspective drawing, a strong understanding of the structure and anatomy of the human form, and the ability to solve visual communication problems creatively. Digital clarification, concept design, environmental design, 3D modeling, animation, stories, creative products design, and business leadership are important. The successful candidate must be able to present and explain the difficult visual concepts effectively, conduct studio offers for different methods and media, directing students individually in their educational and vocational development, and cooperation with colleagues in a collective manner.
Responsibilities: Depending on the creative focus of the candidate and professional experience, teaching tasks may include a fee for life, perspective drawing, and two -dimensional digital and/or three -dimensional, drawing, serial art, concept design, character design, environmental design, illustration, or other specialized topics.
Additional responsibilities include advice to the elderly and other students ’projects, developing curricula, committee’s work, administrative tasks and other services to the university. The professional service for this position will include teaching and creative scholarships. Although it is expected that the majority of the professional service for this position in teaching and evaluating it in accordance with the standards and assessments shown in the university ranking and status policy, a smaller percentage of FTE will include the professional service in a creative grant, which will be evaluated according to the standards and assessments specified in the ranking policy and university status, with additional specific details in the design policy. Full -time faculty is expected to help develop job opportunities for graduates and enhance department, college and university image. Faculty members are also expected to maintain an active record of professional creative activity, which means that continuous publishing in dual or 3D animation, concept design areas, clarification markets, technical competitions, and other publications.
