Financial accountant at Edinburgh University

Full time: 35 hours a week

Open (permanent)

First, they are looking for a financial accountant with good knowledge of working within the crowded financial accounting team.

A successful candidate must have experience in preparing financial statements and accompanying observations, and has a busy record in financial or administrative accounting, leadership and support in the end of the month and reconciliation at the end of the month.

PostHolder will cooperate with colleagues at all levels and in all fields of the university, provides instructions on financial accounting and control issues, and strengthening strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Postholder should be comfortable to work with large data groups and will have experience with an Oracle -based accounting system or the like.

Postholder should be a qualified accountant or in the final stages of the rehabilitation process.

Since the role depends on the hybrid, it is expected that the second place in the office will be for two days a week as a minimum.

Opportunity:

In this role, you will play a major role in maintaining the financial integrity of the university by supporting a number of our main financial accounting functions, and providing guidance in financial and control reports, including:

  • Working as a financial accounting in the financial information team, and strategic reports (first), with the responsibility to support the monthly, separate and annual financial accounting operations;
  • Support the preparation and review process for our legal financial report, and to ensure accurate and timely production for basic financial data and supportive observations;
  • Cooperation with colleagues at all levels and in all fields of the university, providing instructions on financial and control issues, and strengthening strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Promote the fixed application of policies and financial procedures throughout the university to ensure compatibility with external standards and internal institutional policies.

Successful candidate:

  • Be a qualified accountant or in the final stages of the rehabilitation process;
  • You have experience in preparing financial statements and observations accompanying a complex organization;
  • You have experience in preparing and reconciling the complex public budget; and
  • You have excellent communication skills, effectively build relations for partnership with stakeholders and enhance cooperation.
