EsRC PHD STUNSITIATIOTIONS at Midlands Faculty of Social Science

Midlands’s graduate school is an accredited doctoral training partnership from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). One of the 15 of these partnerships in the United Kingdom, the Midlands School of Graduate Studies is cooperation between the University of Aston, the University of Birmingham, the University of De Montivort, the University of Leicester, the University of Luburu, the University of Nottingham, the University of Nutingham Trent and the University of Warwick.

The Midlands Graduate School is looking to employ PhD students in the graduate social sciences to start study in October 2026 through a group of multidisciplinary training and training paths. Our lessons in ESRC – cover the maintenance salary, and pay the tuition fees at the rate of home fees (please see Civil guidance For more information), and support for innovative research training – provides exceptional opportunities for very enthusiastic individuals who can show strong possibilities for doctoral study, including cooperation opportunities. These areas are open to both home and international applicants.

Master’s degree no A prerequisite for applying to the graduate school at Midlands School, and a number of our students specifically for students who apply for financing directly from a Bachelor’s degree. In addition to university candidates, we encourage requests from the actress groups an incomplete representation.

If you are not sure if a doctorate for you, come to “what is the doctorate around?” Online sessions at 1 pm at 9 pmY And 16Y October:

  • Session 1: Introduction – This session will cover the basics of what is a doctorate, the benefits that it can bring to you, and a general view of doctoral training and financing partnerships
  • Session 2: Research proposals and financing applications – This session will provide you with advice on how to identify potential supervisors, deal with them and develop your research suggestion, and you will hear from the current school students in Midlands who hold our applications

MGS accepts project requests in a set of social science specialties. We offer 17 different training tracks that extend to the following social science disciplines and multidisciplinary topics:

  • Economy

  • Health and luxury
  • Human geography
  • Living in a digital community*
  • Administrative and business studies
  • Political science and international relations
  • psychology
  • Legal social studies
  • Sociology, social policy and criminology
  • Sports and exercise science
  • Sustainable development, zero zero, climate flexibility*

* These multidisciplinary tracks are available across all institutions through all other tracks available in that institution.

Types of awards:

Students are available as only doctoral financing, or with master’s research in social science research listed in the first year (1+3.5). Details when doctoral financing must be applied + doctorate, and when additional research exercises are required as part of the doctoral award only, there are guidance notes on our site via what was mentioned above ‘Progress’ button.

All areas are available on a full -time or part -time basis and are open to applicants directly from university study.

How to apply:

  1. Choose a path and university Before applying, you will need to determine which training paths available are the most appropriate for you, and any university you want to study. Not all universities offer all tracks.
  2. Apply for admission to the university you have chosen – Submit an application for the relevant research degree at the university you have chosen (even if you apply for a doctorate + doctorate) by completing an online application to obtain a doctorate.
  3. Complete an ESRC request There are many elements for the application that also requires faculty inputs, and applicants must allow a lot of time to collect all the required information.
