Destone functional membranes of the next generation for clean energy and Safi zero 281 at the University of Nottingham
This doctorate for 3.5 years is open to home applicants (UK) and European Union students with a stable situation. The successful candidate will receive an annual tax -exempt at a Ukraine rate (20,780 pounds for 2025/26; according to the annual height), home tuition fees will be paid.
We recommend that you make the application early, as the advertisement will be removed as soon as the position will be filled.
Do you want to be at the heart of the clean energy revolution? The PhD project gives you this opportunity to design and build new materials that can make hydrogen -running aircraft, electric cars and renewable power systems more secure, more efficient and more powerful.
It will create a multi -layer ceramic paint made from aluminum nitride (ALN) and Nitride Boron (BN). These high -tech materials will be designed for two applications to change the game:
- High -performance electrical insulation for the next generation and power electronics used in transportation and energy systems.
- Painting a hydrogen penetration barrier for nuclear fusion applications and hydrogen energy applications.
Using the delicate and advanced delicate membranes deposition, you will explore how nanoparticles can transform performance in real world applications. You will also benefit from direct cooperation with the industry, and the acquisition of high -level skills and ideas in the space, cars and energy sectors.
Nottingham University is the perfect place to implement this research. It will join two internationally recognized groups-the advanced material research group and the hydrogen group-and will have the right to access to global level laboratories, industrial deposit systems and unique description facilities. With a busy record of energy innovation and industrial partnerships, the University of Nutingham provides an ideal environment for conducting high -impact research that can really constitute the future of net zero in the United Kingdom.
This is your opportunity to create hacker materials for clean energy technologies and develop the experience that the best employers and research institutes are looking for.
The project oversees a strong multidisciplinary team: Dr. Zakhaar Kudrinski (Advanced Description), Professor Martin Dornheim (hydrogen energy systems), Professor David Grant and Dr. Timothy Cooper (deposition and paint in the delicate movie). Together, they provide global experience in energy, nanoparticles, and applied materials.
Applicants must obtain a first degree (or equivalent) in the relevant engineering or scientific discipline (can be seenstreet December 2025.
To apply, please contact the main supervisor, Dr. Zakhaar Kudrinski – Zakhar.kudrynskyi@nottingham.ac.uk. Please include the details of your current level of study, academic background, any related experience, and to include a paragraph about your motives for studying this doctorate project.
