Role:

This role supports the mission of the British Council to enhance cultural relations and educational opportunities between the United Kingdom and China. It works in the strategic business unit for cultural participation, and it contributes to international programs in art, education, English and research. The focus focuses on strengthening the ties of Chinese people in the United Kingdom, enhancing cooperation in education and arts, enhancing English learning, and supporting the strategic interests of the United Kingdom through cultural diplomacy and commercial exams.

Accountability:

The role provides strategic leadership and technical supervision of education programs and contracts, quality guarantee, influence and alignment with international standards. It manages daily processes, financial performance and compliance, taking advantage of digital tools and including equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the delivery. PostHolder leads planning and contributes to regional and column strategies, ensuring compatibility with global goals and enhancing cooperation through teams. They build and maintain high -level relationships with government, founders and sector stakeholders to support the participation of the United Kingdom and China and determine new opportunities. Depending on the experience of the deep sector, they contribute to the leadership of thought, provide surroundings, and support the building of internal capabilities. The role also encourages the education sector in the United Kingdom, which ensures clearly connecting the value of the British Council and supporting its reputation. Business development efforts, including pipeline management, bid development, and contract delivery, are led, while ensuring commercial feasibility and strategic impact. Financial responsibilities include budget planning, deals structure, and investment decisions. Finally, the role actively contributes to a comprehensive and hostile culture of racism, supporting EDI principles for employees and including them in all aspects of work.

Role requirements:

• Qualified to the level of certificate or its equivalent through the relevant experience and qualifications.
• In the depth understanding of the international education market
• Experience that can be clarified in moderate to large program management in the relevant education sector (perfectly at least 5 years of experience)
• Wide knowledge of the UK and international policy in the sector and curricula for internationalization.
• An active and modern network from the higher level communication authorities
• Previous experience to build effective networks through organizations
• User is confident of information technology
• The ability to analyze relevant equality issues and determine opportunities to address this in the portfolio
• The experience of leading various and dispersed teams, and the defense of learning and development (the work of the storing work and influence through others is more important as a sectoral leader, may not have direct reports)
