Salary range: total University and college salary: 56,535 pounds sterling – 75,915 pounds annually. The College of Philosophy seeks to appoint an associate professor or a professor of philosophy, in cooperation with an educational fellowship at the Merton College. A successful candidate will have the field of specialization in ethics and/or political philosophy, with at least a field of efficiency in feminist philosophy. This post is available from September 1, 2026, or as soon as possible after that. This is a permanent date (taking into account the initial test).

It is expected that the successful candidate will participate in advanced research in ethics and/or political philosophy, and he must be able to provide teaching and supervision led by research at all levels, university students and graduate studies. The successful candidate is also expected to provide a university teaching of the small group of Mirton, in the form of educational programs, on a set of topics in philosophy on both preliminary and advanced levels.

The candidates must show a research record in the philosophy of international standing for their career career. You must have research interests in ethics and/or political philosophy, the ability to provide excellent education, the ability to oversee graduate students, and the desire to fulfill pastoral responsibilities on behalf of the Merton College and the University. Candidates must obtain a complete doctorate degree, or a complete doctoral thesis submitted to examine the date of the closure announced on this position, in philosophy or a close field.
