Secretary of open research library // RCSI Library (Dublin 2)

The goal of this post:
The Secretary of the Open Research Library, the development and provision of services to support open research, including the operation and development of the RCSI warehouse, promotion and training on open access, advice and support for open access agreements, the effect of research and standards, copyright and open publishing.
1. Open search
• Promotion leadership and support to researchers on publishing open access and support for the publication of RCSI research outputs through open search practices.
• Cooperation with the library colleagues to coordinate the development, promotion and delivery of the Library Research Support Services Group
• Build strong business relationships with a RCSI research community, research and innovation office, vision and office for planning, and other internal stakeholders as necessary.
• The library is the relevant internal and external groups and committees as required, with the active role in national groups and initiatives in open research
• Developing and preserving strong peer networks through higher education and other sectors to inform the development of service and enhance cooperation. Keeping pace with the directions, developments and policies related to open research at the national and international levels at the level
2. The warehouse and infrastructure
• The daily operation management of the RCSI warehouse, ensuring that there are effective operations in place and follow -up standards.
• Managing the burden of the warehouse work between supportive employees, ensuring timely approval on new additions, monitoring new publications, and following up with authors when needed.
• Take the initiative to plan the continuous development of the warehouse to ensure the continued meeting of RCSI needs, and work with the Coordinator of the Digital Library Systems and Services, the service provider, and colleagues more colleagues as needed
• Keep a knowledge of the functional aspects of the research information management system (the edges – which are currently provided by symmetrical elements), especially their effects on the warehouse and integration
• Work with the warehouse provider (currently Figshare) and participate in the provider community
• It plays an active role in open warehouses Ireland and any other related cooperative societies on warehouses and standards
• Maintaining operational documents and system including the production of use reports, relevant policies and procedures, and ensuring the continuous application of appropriate descriptive data standards
• Work with the appropriate partners to ensure the effective effective integration of the warehouse and its identification data in national and international gates
3. Organic agriculture and copyright agreements
• Providing expert guidance, consultation and support to researchers on scientific communications issues, including the rights and licensing of the authors, the requirements for publishing open access to fun, open arrival publishing options, principles and open research practices and practices
• Enhancing the library’s open publishing agreements, managing the approvals and advising authors
• Provide advice for copyright for library users, updating and maintaining directives on copyright for researchers, teachers and students
4. Research and influence vision
• Supporting and providing training for researchers to use bibliosterium tools to assess effect, including helping to provide or verify individual standards of promotions, grant applications, etc.
• Provide assistance and advice to researchers on maintaining a researcher’s profile on edge and other external services
• Promote and monitor the accreditation and use of Orcid, with highlighting its benefits for researchers
• Work closely with the main stakeholders at the university, and provide expert advice and help in the appropriate and responsible use of the quotes based on the quotation and other standards and tools related to the relevant research impact
• Including activity with the university’s vision and planning office, coordinating support and training for researchers and departments on research standards, and helping to ensure their careful and responsible use.
5. Line and Supervision Management
• Providing guidance and supervision of professional employees who support research support, including but not limited to, proactive mandate for tasks, supervision, review of work operations and workflow; Training employees; Planning for professional development, harmonizing team activities with operational and strategic goals.
6. Training
• Developing and implementing the appropriate awareness and training that aims at research employees and graduate students related to all aspects of publishing open access, the scene of advanced scientific communications, and cooperation with the research data coordinator, on open research practices and curricula
• Developing, maintaining and updating appropriate online guidance through libuguides and other means, promoting and educating RCSI users on all aspects of open search and related fields.

§ Graduate studies qualification in the library, information science, or equivalent
