Criminology sits at the College of Social Sciences, adding complementary specializations in legal studies, Wales Observatory for Human Rights for Children and Youth, the Center for Social Change, and the Cooperative Center for Criminal Justice and Criminology (CCJC). CCJC conducts multidisciplinary experimental research on areas including youth justice policy, drugs and criminality policies, police, sports criminality, sexual action, strong crimes, political economy for crime in the global south, terrorism and cybercrime. Swansea University also hosts the Wales Data Research Center, which facilitates access to related administrative data specified in a safe environment.

The Law School is located within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, which provides a unique environment to conduct legal or social documentary research related to the law, concerns and methods of social sciences. The Faculty of Law in Swansea has an active and vital research culture including: CCJC; Electronic Threat Research Center (CYTREC); International Shipping and Trade Institute (IISTL); Observatory on human rights and social justice; The Center for Governance and Human Rights. Previously, the school supported factors through a wide range of sub -majors, including: Public and Constitutional Law; Legal education; human rights; The deficit law; Law of asylum; Law of harm environmental law, European Union Law and Governance; Family Law perceptions in sports clubs, the third sector; Banking and environmental risks; Welsh Housing Policy/English Language; Constitutional views on the transfer of Welsh.
