Salvord University is looking to employ a gardener to work on a permanent basis. Applicants will be asked to serve the entire university real estate with a group of different tasks.

Applicants will need to be organized and able to work on their own initiative to carry out scheduled work in a variety of sites on and around the campus. Working on tight -time dates will need to complete all the duties granted to mandatory quality standards.

Duties include:

• Mass, the edge and fertilization of meadows and sports fields.
• Landsons of weeds and tenses.
• Pruning hedges, shrubs and small trees.
• Flowers, trees and shrubs.
• Choose garbage.
• Place herbal pesticides, fungicides, or pesticides, on plants or soil to prevent or control weeds.
• Winter services – Guard and snow clearance.
• Various landscape duties.

Related qualifications (NVQ Gardening level 2-3) and experience (5 years +) in this sector is desirable, although the appropriate candidate will be provided with training to close any gaps in the specific skills. Full clean driving license (Required to transfer heavy equipment between universities) It will be a feature like a spray license in jars, trailer, PA1 and PA6 NPTC.

The real estate and facilities team leads to the development of campus, creating attractive and innovative learning, work and living environments for colleagues, students and partners. The Directorate includes more than 300 employees and works with a wide range of external contractors.

The service arm of the directorate is responsible for providing real estate management and full facilities to the university, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, care and landscapes. It covers 33 buildings via the estate, is currently divided into 5 sites.

Under the leadership of the real estate and facilities team, the university is subject to a conversion to the delivery of its main plan on the campus. Along with the Salford City Council and the English City Fund, there will be an investment of 2.5 billion pounds over the next twenty years, as part of the Crescent Renewal Program. This investment will prevent our university deprivation and create a new city area that combines industry, education and innovation, and to provide new spaces for teaching, innovation, commercial, residential, green spaces and sustainable travel.
