Executive Director, non -profit organization

Summer Mathematics Programs Union

The job description of the CEO

About the organization

The sporty summer enrichment programs played an important role in reaching mathematics for more than 50 years, providing students in middle and high schools with the opportunity to discover a passion for mathematics, communicate with their peers who share this emotion, and study mathematics in depth that does not appear in school simply. The new summer mathematics programs (“The Consortium” is the first organic organization through programs between the programs to enrich summer mathematics, and works cooperatively to enhance the entire ecosystems and through its arrival in mathematics in the United States. Through our work, we help the ecosystems to prosper through the creation of a joint community of members’ programs and care, and thus enhance all our work in addition to creating new paths for more people to participate.

Consortium is currently a project for the American Mathematics Corporation (which runs Canada/USA Mathcamp). The early project is the launch of the Federation as 501 (C) independent (3).

About the role

Since its establishment in 2023, the union has been completely operated by volunteers. This group of volunteers led the formation of a prosperous and cooperative society that includes 15 members for members, 13 affiliated programs, 4 affiliated individuals, and two programs in a consortium incubator. The current leadership of the Federation is a small volunteer guidance committee, which directs vision and supports daily processes. The Steering Committee recently led a strategic planning process to draw the next stage of the union’s work. As a critical step to create a sustainable organization with the ability to have a greater impact, we rely on the first specialized leader of the organization: a full -time executive (ED).
