Are you excited to supervise fresh water and community solutions? We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized team player, to be a community monitoring student!

Its headquarters from Winnipeg with travel throughout southern Manitoba, this full-time center is 32 hours per week, $ 23.00 per hour, from January 12 to May 2026.

LWF has implemented a reduced work week, where employees work 32 hours/week. The reduced work week comes with the expectation that employees will continue to maintain 100 % of the work week of the work week for 40 hours. As such, the employees will continue to receive the salary they will get for 40 hours of work. Accordingly, the wage was increased by an hour for this position from $ 18.40 to $ 23.00.

Responsibilities

Providing reports to the program coordinator, the community monitoring student will support planning and preparing samples and field activities for the community monitoring network in Lake Winyge. The tasks will include:

• Follow the stock and prepare a bundle sample for volunteers and partners
• Follow sample data and volunteers and keep a database to take updated samples
• Helping to recruit volunteers and build relationships
• Help in delivering a sample of packages and training courses in the field to new volunteers
• Monitor online water levels by wiping water in Canada
• Communication with volunteers and partners to coordinate samples activities via the network
• Conducting the activities of the responsive water samples in southern Manitoba, using LWCBMP protocols and equipment (spoonful of spring melting)
• Support the flow data collection and the level of water respondents in southern Manitoba (spoonful of spring melting)
• Support the program’s results for the volunteers and network partners
• Help in planning and implementing the LWCBMN annual assembly
• LWF representation in a consistent with its mission, vision and values
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

A successful candidate will be:

• A combination of education/ experience in a related field (such as science; environmental sciences; engineering)
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details
• Strong personal communication skills
• Strong skills to solve problems and the ability to adapt
• Energy, enthusiasm and trick
• The ability to work well in a various team environment
• Show efficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
• The ability to carry out material field work activities
• The experience of doing field work and data management is one of the assets
• The knowledge of the ecosystem of the lake, Kenybeg and the issues that affect the health of the lake are one of the assets
• Registered driving license and comfortable leadership in the rural areas of Manitoba

The applicants must be currently current Kindy students.
