*Note: This position is expected to work primarily in LAC after opening the new main library, but this will be asked to make some reference transformations (weekly) in the main library as well*

table:
40 hours a week. Usually 8-5, although some flexibility in the table is available (for example, 8: 30-5: 30, etc.). Exclusive work from home is allowed on a customized basis with the permission of the manager, but the initial duties of the role require a personal work. A weekend work may be needed with a week schedule adjustments as needed.

Summary of the situation:
The architect operations manager is responsible for developing and managing archive groups. This role is responsible for ensuring acquisition, preservation, discovery and ease of access to archive materials in accordance with professional standards and developing archive policies and procedures. This role is managed by the work of 2 librarians who provide archive groups and private groups.

Basic functions:

  • Developing the leading archive group through acquisition, processing, arrangement, description and preservation of material and digital archive materials.
  • Managing the work of the library secretary on digitization, processing private groups, and developing archive groups.
  • Providing leadership in continuous development and implementing archive standards and best practices for physical, digital and tied groups.
  • Follow the international standards and practices of the archives and descriptive data to provide an accurate arrangement, description and discover the library archiving groups.
  • Create joining records and original resources for each group in the archive using the Edd Archive Data Data Data Data Data Data Data Data.
  • Create and maintain relationships with community partners to develop archive groups.
  • Help in other aspects of archives and duties of private collections, to include reference, programming, communication and innovative projects within the Charlotte McClorg community in addition to archive duties.

Job requirements

Minimum qualifications:
Not less than five years of progressive experience in archives that give knowledge, skills and capabilities successfully perform the duties of this situation.

education:
Master’s degree in Library Science (or equivalent such as MIS, MSIS, MLIS, MSLS, etc.) from ALA accredited institution; Prefer focus in the physical or digital archive.

Licensing and certificates:
NC PUBLIC LIBRary certificate is required or must be obtained in a specific time frame.

What is equivalent to education and acceptable experience? Yes

Favorite qualifications:

  • Knowledge of archive standards (such as NARA 1571, DACS, EAD, etc.) shown related to documents, maps, newspapers, photographs, antiques, textiles and digital records.
  • Knowing the work of archive management systems (such as ArchivessPace)
  • Knowing the criteria of the Mark identification data.
  • Decorative courses or professional development related to digital archives.

  • Current trends and developments in archive sciences.
  • Acquisition, treatment, arrangement, description, and preserve the material and digital archiving materials
