Post -PhD Researcher in Mineral Physics at Oxford University

Location: South Parks Street, Oxford

The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford is looking to appoint a post -doctoral researcher in mineral physics for a period of 3 years.

A successful mail holder will be responsible for conducting research on the transitions of the bottom scarf, as BRILOUIN’s spectromistic analysis is used in laboratory X -rays and time in diamond cells (DDAC). The focus will be on the transmission of the cubic phase to the quadruple in Casio3 PEROVSKITE, but there is a possibility to study other scarf transfers.

A post -holder will have the opportunity to perform the BRILOUN spectrum analysis measurements on the minerals of the scarf in the Diamond Diamond Cell (DAC) using a new VIPA, with the aim of studying the transfer of the low scarf phase and determining its signature of the earthquake. Cynchrotron X -ray experiments in DDAC and take an active part of other group synchronization experiments is an important part of this role.

About you

You will hold, or be close to the end of the doctorate/DMHil related to the relevant experience.

You will have experience in high -pressure experimental research and/or high temperature research, perfectly with Synchrotron XRD and/or optical spectral analysis. Having sufficient specialized knowledge in discipline to work within the applicable research programs.

Having the ability to work independently, manage your academic research and associated activities is the key to this role. Besides having excellent communication skills including the ability to write to publish, present research proposals, results and trust to represent the research group at meetings.
