The International Development Center (IGC) works with policy makers in developing countries to enhance comprehensive and sustainable growth through research that has shattered tracks. IGC combines a group of program teams throughout Africa, South Asia and the Middle East with a network of leading researchers in the world backed by a global center at London College of Economics in Partnership and Oxford University. IGC partner countries currently include Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Jordan, Mozambique, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia. IGC The majority is funded by the UK Office, the United Kingdom, Commonwealth and Development (FCDO).

Since November 2024, IGC has supported the establishment of Zambia’s Evidence Laboratory in the Ministry of Finance and National Planning. Zel’s task is to convert how public institutions use data across sectors such as health, taxes, education and mining – identifying data quality, enabling the system’s systematic operation, and building analytical ability. This includes cleaning, documenting and documenting data groups for use through lending, while using methods that ensure that the outputs are strict and related to politics, from descriptive analyzes and economic evaluation to interactive information panels and artificial intelligence tools (such as processing natural language, predictive modeling and automation). All outputs are produced with civil service employees to ensure that visions are practical and pay for policy. Zell also narrates the integration of administrative data and traditional survey with unconventional sources-such as spatial geographical images and communications records-to enable the manufacture of the most comprehensive policies that depend on data.

By submitting reports to IGC General Manager in Zambia, Zel president will lead a team of six economists and data specialists to form and present the laboratory strategy. In lusaka, they will oversee the production of data-based policy outputs-including cost and benefits analyzes, standard economics studies, diagnosis, perception, and information paintings-connected to analytical rigor and the importance of politics all the time. He will manage the head of higher relations through government and partner institutions, and works with IGC’s artificial intelligence advisers, and expand the scope of artificial intelligence to enhance government operations and make evidence -based decisions.

A successful candidate will have an innovative mindset of thinking that can translate the pioneer in the field of research and technological progress into implemented policy initiatives. They will have a mixture of the following experiences and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in economics or a related field.
  • Strong skills in quantitative analysis, especially with non -experimental observation data.
  • A strong record of engaging with political makers.
  • Driving experience, including team management.
