Open University Business College (OUBS) is located within the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL). Research in the heart of OUBS, supports all our activities from teaching to consulting, consulting and politics. Our mission is to conduct high -quality research in the fields of business, management, accounting and financing that are in intellectual terms, which meets international excellence standards and provides a strong evidence for reporting practice.

The Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is the largest Open University Research Authority (OU). Our researchers enjoy modern facilities to support their objective interests, including specialized laboratories and leading analytical facilities in the world.

About the role

We seek to appoint a high -motivated researcher to join an exciting project to form a digital twin in the product development process. The researcher will join a team to work in a experimental study and support the design of the digital twin design process through the status studies in the real world. The plan is to test the operation, verify the authenticity of the operation, ready to adapt to the industry.

This situation provides an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to move to a future research role. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Khadia Tahira from the Faculty of Open University Business (OUBS), Professor Helen Lukete, and Dr. Estan Guiders, from the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). They will rely on their research knowledge, skills and experiences to support the researcher’s research and growth activities. Vocational training and development opportunities will also be provided. In general, we are looking for a researcher who is eager to participate actively and contribute to a strong research at the Open University.

Main responsibilities

It is expected that the person appointed to the project will contribute to the following ways:

  • Conducting research in digital twins and information modeling techniques.
  • Support planning and conducting interviews in the case study company.
  • Contribute to the development of an information form for developing intense test products.
  • Participate in industry and workshop meetings.
  • Write the reports and draft an article magazine.
  • Support the project leadership as needed.

About you

necessary

  • Doctorate degree (granted or thesis presented) in computer science, engineering, data science, information systems, relevant discipline, or equivalent experience in the field of digital twins.
  • Handing over digital concepts and techniques, as well as experience in information and practical modeling.
  • Analytical skills and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, sharing with both academic and industrial stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills are necessary to write reports and cooperate with stakeholders in the industry.
  • The ability to work independently and cooperation in a multidisciplinary environment has been proven.
  • The ability to respond to comments and refine the products showed.

desirable

  • Experience in working with mixed impact research convergence of quality, scanning and experimental.
  • A busy post, preferably in academic magazines.
  • The experience of conducting cooperative research with non -academic stakeholders.
  • Experience, organizing or providing knowledge exchange activities.
