Leader of the KTP Associate project at Hull University

An innovative opportunity in sustainable engineering

Join one of the largest independent companies to develop and test pumps in the UK in a 24 -month exciting project that develops a fish -friendly pump technology. Pumpflow Limited specializes in the design, design and test of detailed engineering pumps in a wide range of sectors. This knowledge transfer partnership (KTP) between Hall and Flottek University provides the unique opportunity to fill the gap between academic research and industrial environmental engineering applications.

Role

It will lead innovative research that combines biological, environmental and engineering sciences to revolutionize fish friendly pump technology. By working with both academic experts from the International Fish Fisheries Institute at the University of Hull, it will work in a test facility on the latest model to develop the next generation (NGP) pump that protects and maintains endangered fish population throughout our ecosystems.

Main responsibilities

As a KTP participant, it will help in designing and developing NGP by using hydrological sensors and high -speed video imaging to understand pump reactions. Consequently, your role will include the management of complex data analysis and work with living animals using the UK’s home office methodologies and the organizational standards for industry to achieve the highest levels of scientific requirements. During the project, you will work closely with the PumpFlow engineering team by providing research results that translate into practical solutions.

Required skills:

  • The degree of honor is of the highest or higher degree (masters/doctorate) in a relevant topic, for example, engineering, naval, freshwater, or zoology biology
  • Strong skills in dealing with and analyzing data and preferably technical data experience (for example, sensing)
  • Experiment to conduct scientific experiments with live animals (preferably fish, not necessary)
  • Excellent skills to solve problems and a mental directed towards details
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary environment

Desired skills:

  • The experience of working in an industrial environment and problem solving in an engineering context or a direct experience to work in the RD & I.
  • Experience in project management
  • Data analysis in R or Python
  • UK driving license
  • Video shooting and photography

  • Salary: 35,608 pounds annually
  • 4000 pounds sterling the development and personal training budget
